Amsterdam - Germany - Venice - Florence - Rome

Hi Guys, Chris was going to update our blog one place at a time from the tour but he hasn't got around to it yet so here is a short overview!!!!!

The trip with mum was great. After Amsterdam we drove to Boppard in Germany via Holland. In Holland we went to a typical fishing village (Vollemdam) where we were shown how they make wooden clogs.

When we got to Germany we had cruise on the Rhine and saw a whole lot of castles. We also had a few beers at the local pub, a tiny place with only two beers on tap. The place we stayed there was really nice and the food great.

The next day we went to the Austrian Alps and stayed in a ski lodge with a very friendly Aussie owner called Don. The views were absolutely breathtaking and we would love to go back in the winter as it is very close to an awesome ski field. Don cooked us a BBQ that night and we all had a few drinks.

After Austria we travelled to Venice, through the Italian Dolomites which were amazing. We stopped there for lunch and had very yummy pasta. We stayed in Venice for 2 nights (all the other places we stayed one so it was alot of travelling) at a camp groud in comfortable cabins. However the accomodation was located right at the end of the airport, so close the cabins shook everytime a plane landed or took off!!!!! No matter we spent most of our time in Venice wandering around and taking in the sights, it was nice to have a free day that wasn't spent travelling.

The next day we left the bus tour for a rental car and Chris (very bravely) drove to Florence. It was very strange driving on the wrong side of the road and took us a while to get used to it. We also had trouble finding our accomodation here but after a few wrong turns(an hour and a half) and a hail storm we finally found it. All 3 of us loved Florence, we went to see the Michealangelo's David which was absolutely stunning and did a bit of shopping.

After 1 night in Florence, Chris braved the traffic again and drove us to Rome. It was a really nice journey, they have great roads between cities but driving into the city can be pretty nerve racking especially as everything is in Italian. We had 3 nights in Rome so plenty of time to go shopping and sight seeing too. The highlights were the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel. We managed to see most of the other sights as well. It was very hot in Rome and there were thousands of people everywhere so although we really enjoyed our trip it was nice to get back home and relax for a few days.

We had a wonderful trip around Europe with mum and encourage anyone else who wants to, to come over for a visit and we'll show you around!!!

Missing everyone, lots of love, Aims and Chris xoxo

The home of Shakespeare and the Town of Rugby

Last weekend we went away to Stratford-Upon-Avon with our flatmate Kelly and her boyfriend Simon. On the way we stopped in at Oxford and had a look at the sights there. We stayed in a really nice bed and breakfast in Warwick run by an Irish guy and his family. Didn't get to Warwick castle because it was raining so we went to the town of Rugby and to Silverstone Track on the way home. It was nice to get away from London and see some more of Britain. Hope all is well with everyone and not to cold in NZ. We are really looking forward to seeing mum when she comes over next Monday. Hear from you guys soon, love Chris and Aims xoxox

JT (Justin Timberlake)

A couple of weeks ago Chris took me to the JT concert and it was soooo much fun. It was at the O2 stadium which is not far away from our house. We were only about 4 metres away from the stage. Fergie opened for him and she was really cool too. Here are some pics, some not so good quality but it was awesome. Chris amused himself by taking lots of pics and videos.
Hear from you soon, love Aims xoxo

Stonehenge

Hey guys, sorry we have been a little slack updating our blog lately but we have been busy. I just finished school today so six weeks holiday for me, YAY! Here are some pics from our day trip to Stonehenge. We went with Kelly our flatmate and it was a typical English summer day - it poured with rain.

Prague

A couple of weekends ago Chris took me to Prague for a surprise weekend. We flew via Swizterland on a Thursday afternoon and got into Prague around 7pm. After collecting our bags we decided to brave public transport and catch the bus and tram to our hotel. What we didn't realise was that hardly anybody outside the airport speaks English and all the stops were announced in Czech!! Luckily we managed to get on the right bus, then change to the right tram and even get off on the right stop.

Prague is an extremely beautiful city with lots of sights to see. We saw most of them including: Charles Bridge, Stone Bridge, Prague Castle, Old Town Square, Astronimical Clock, Tyn Church etc... Everything in Prague is old and well preserved, even most of the streets are still coble stones. It was very pretty during the day and absolutely gorgeous at night.

Prague Castle is huge and includes St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, the Basilica of St George, Golden Lane and Prague's National Gallery. It was an amazing place and we spent around 5 hours wandering around it.

We had an absolutely awesome weekend, the sights were great, the food was okay and the beer was really cheap and good. It was lovely to get away from London and experience a completely different culture and city.

Hope to hear from you guys soon, Love Aims and Chris xoxoxoxo
