Hanging out at the Nexus

Not long to go till we get to London and we are still enjoying the warm weather and relaxing atmosphere of the Nexus. This is the happy hour band which plays from 5 - 7pm nearly every night here. They are amazing as they sing a huge range of songs and in numerous languages. We enjoy listening to them and they are very friendly and pose for photos (as you can see!).

We ventured out of the resort on Tuesday and went into the city of Kota Kinabalu. Was quite interesting but very dirty and smelly! The shuttle dropped us at a shopping centre called the KK Plaza at around 10 o clock. However all the shops were shut as they dont open until 10.30 or 11.00ish (no set time). So we decided to walk to the other shopping centre about five minutes away. It was really different to KL, much dirtier and a lot less touristy. Everyone seemed to be watching us and we hardly saw any other Europeans!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway we did a little shopping and I found some real cheap things for my prize box! We also went to the supermarket to pick up some snacks as it is quite expensive eating at the resort. After a lunch of Burger King (he he all the other food looked dodgy) we decided to head back to the safety of our resort!

We havent seen the Orangutans cos you have to fly in a little plane to go see them and Chris isn't keen. So we mostly have been relaxing by the pool or beach trying to get a really good tan that wont fade as soon as we get to England.

Kota Kinabalu, Borneo

Hey Everyone!!!!!!
Borneo is awesome and we are staying in this flash as resort about 45 mins out from the main city of Kota
Kinabalu. This is just one of the pools that we have been relaxing around for the past 2 days - there are 2 more! The weather here is lovely around 30-35 degrees all the time. We are soaking up the rays before we get to London. I think our tan might last about 3 days of the cold weather! Not much to report - we have been sunbathing, swimming or eating in one of the 7 restaurants for the past 3 days!

On tour in Malaysia!

Hey Guys
We made it to Malaysia safe and well on a pretty good flight. The service was excellent, cant say much about the food though!!! K L airport was pretty hectic and we had to wait a good hour or so for our transport to the Capitol Hotel. We made it to bed around 3am NZ time and 10pm KL time which wasnt too bad.
Our hotel is very central and we are close to the big shopping centres. Also close to a few restaurants (one being Planet Holliwood KL) which we are going to go for dinner tonight. It was extremely lively when we arrived last night and we even had a live band to sing us to sleep (very loud).
Have been out shopping today but not buying much as we dont have alot of room in our packs. Chris managed to score me some "Gucci" sunglasses for a real bargain at the markets next door as I left my others in NZ. We are off on a city tour tomorrow and cant wait to see some sights.

Leaving NZ

Tonight is our last night in NZ for a while. Both Chris and I are really looking forward to starting our new adventure. We have packed all our stuff and are ready to go. I just wish we could skip the goodbyes at the airport (am already taking rescue remedy!) . We are going to miss all our friends and family very much, but can't wait to see the world. Take care everybody and we will keep in touch.
